Best Turkey Size for Thanksgiving Dinner

Choose a turkey that ranges from around 12 to 16 pounds for your Thanksgiving Dinner.  Anything larger will not cook properly all of the way through, and may harbor harmful bacteria such as salmonella.  Anything smaller will come out dry and splotchy in appearance.  The best choice: a freshly killed bird.

Tidbits

Thinking of grilling skewered beef? You can tenderize the meat by sprinkling a dusting of baking soda over the meat and mix it in with the marinade. Do this just a few minutes before you start to grill.  You meat will come out super tender, just like in the restaurant!
